Ruth Moreland, Founding Artistic Director of Voci di Sorelle and The Copperleaf Quintet, is Founder and Executive Director of Benissimo Music Productions. An active composer and arranger, her compositions and arrangements have been performed by various ensembles and choirs. She is the creator of RBM Music Publishing and was selected as a finalist in composition in the 2007 and 2009 grant awards of the Artist Foundation of San Antonio.
Throughout her career Ms. Moreland has taught private voice, piano, and music theory, and directed numerous small vocal ensembles. She has been a member of the adjunct music faculties of The University of Texas at San Antonio and Our Lady of the Lake University, served as Chorus Master for the Lyric Opera of San Antonio, and as Associate Conductor of the San Antonio Choral Society. Ms. Moreland has sung with the San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers and appeared in concert as a soloist with the San Antonio Choral Society. She holds an undergraduate degree in Music Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting Performance from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
